Answer to January 2014

The image is of the roof-line of Magdelene Chapel as depicted on the bronze plaque at the Beechen Cliff Viewpoint.  The plaque was installed in the 1920s during the period that Alderman Cedric Chivers was Major of Bath (1924 through to 1929) and his name can be found at the bottom right of the plaque.  The scene depicted is notable as it pre-dates World War 2 and the subsequent clearances of the late 1960s / 1970s.  Thus buildings such as St James and St Andrews churches are shown though they were damaged in the war and subsequently demolished.
